The Allockate hardware ecosystem is designed as a modular access control system. The system consists of slave modules for door access, commonly known as I/O controllers, and user authentication modules such as a QR code scanner or LCD keypad, and a master module that acts as an IoT connectivity device to the Allockate platform. The master and slave modules communicate over an industrial Modbus link for reliable communication. All devices are managed and controlled using the Allockate platform.
IoT Master Modules
Master modules communicate with the Allockate platform using a secure TLS MQTT connection for device management, firmware over-the-air updates, and control of all slave modules. The system includes advanced error detection, logging, and remote troubleshooting features.
Low Power Modem
Based on the Nordic Semiconductor nRF9160 LTE-M modem and is optimized for energy-efficient deployments. With a typical power consumption of around 3 mA at 12 V, it is ideal for battery-powered systems and installations where long autonomous operation is required.
High Performance Modem
Based on the Quectel EG800 LTE Cat-1 bis modem. It supports data rates of up to 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink, enabling faster communication with the platform and quicker response times for operations such as door opening and device control.
Slave Modules
Slave modules communicate with the master module via a reliable, noise-resistant industrial Modbus link with distances of up to 500 m. Up to 250 slave devices can be connected to a single master module and managed through the Allockate platform.
8 Channel I/O Controller (For Master)
This controller functions as a master controller with a modem card slot. It features 8 output relays for driving electronic locks or other inductive loads, and 8 inputs for sensors such as door state detection. A fully protected variant is available with short-circuit-protected outputs and a backup battery for sending a final message in the event of a power failure.
8 Channel I/O Expansion Controller
This controller functions as an I/O expansion module, allowing a single master module to control additional outputs, with each unit connected to the same Modbus link. It features 8 output relays and 8 inputs for sensor detection. The Modbus address can be set using a DIP switch on the board.
16 Channel Input Expansion Controller
This controller functions as an input expansion module, allowing a single master module to read additional inputs. It features 16 inputs for sensor detection. The Modbus address can be set using a DIP switch on the board.
1 Channel Door Controller
This controller has a single output for controlling a device and 3 inputs for reading various sensors. It also functions as a UART controller for connecting different types of user identification devices, such as QR code scanners or code keypads.
